What are the Entry Requirements for UCC Postgraduate Distance Education Programs?

For an opportunity to enter into any of the UCC postgraduate distance education programs, they should possess the following: 

  1. Those with a Third Class or Pass will undergo a selection interview.
  2. For MBA and MSc programs, candidates with final professional certificates and membership in recognised professional bodies (e.g., ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, CIPS, etc.) are also eligible to apply.
  3. Applicants must possess a first degree in their intended field of specialisation from a recognised university, with at least a Second Class Lower Division.

For the MSc in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, applicants must:

  1. Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Materials Management.
  2. Have at least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification work experience.
  3. M.Ed. applicants must have a Diploma in Education if their first degree is not in Education. Graduates may progress to the M.Phil programme after completion.
  4. M.Phil. Applicants must hold a second degree (MA or M.Ed) in the relevant field from a recognised institution.
  5. PGDE Applicants must have at least a first degree in a relevant area and be currently teaching. Submission of official transcripts and passing a selection interview (if required) are mandatory.

M.Ed Information Technology Applicants (Coursework & Dissertation):

1. Must have either a B.Ed in any field, or a first degree (BA/BSc/B.Com) with a Diploma/PGDE/Certificate in Education.

How to Apply for a UCC postgraduate Distance Learning program

UCC applications are accepted online during the application period. Here is the online application process. Follow the steps below to submit your application online.

Step 1: First, purchase the application form/voucher from any of the designated Sales Centres at a cost of Ghc230.00.

Step 2: Begin the online application by using this link https://apply.ucc.edu.gh/

Step 3: On the homepage, select “CLICK TO APPLY FOR PROGRAM” found under the APPLICATION PROCESS section.

Step 4: Choose POST-GRADUATE ENTRY on the VERIFY VOUCHER page to proceed.

Step 5: On the large EMS envelope used for submitting supporting documents, applicants must clearly write the following information:

  • Application reference number
  • Full name (no abbreviations)
  • Postal address
  • Chosen programme

You are to ensure that all certificates submitted online are certified. Additionally, a printed copy of the Confirmation Page, along with a copy of your academic transcript and certificates, should be submitted through the Ghana Post Office.
