United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Paid Internship Opportunity for Students and Graduates for 2025

The time has come once again for students who are looking for opportunities to take the baton to chase after their dreams. I am Eliayasu Yahaya Bansi, dedicated to bringing you into the light by bringing to your doorstep the opportunities available around you. The opportunity to win the United Nations Population Fund Paid Internship is here. So if you happen to be a graduate who is looking for a paid internship opportunity in 2025, a bachelor's student, or a postgraduate, UNFPA is currently accepting applications. I have walked through the process before, so I know fully the ins and outs of the procedures involved. Just follow along, I serve as your guide.

What You Need to Know About UNFPA:

It is the joy of every woman to have a child, and it is the greatest joy of every mother to give birth. So imagine a world where each and every woman can make a decision on when to have a child, where every mother gives birth safely, and where every young person has the freedom to achieve their goals as they dreamt it. This world in your imagination right now is what the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is working hard to create.

Follow along, let me share with you my detailed research.

The UNFPA, through its 2022-2025 Strategic Plan, has focused its goals on three key things. That is

  1. Preventing maternal deaths: A worst nightmare for every mother.
  2. Making family planning accessible to everyone
  3. Putting an end to gender based violence and harmful practices.

Due to this, it has its mission to have a deep connection with the global push towards Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

It also has its mission, which is geared at restoring the progress that humanity has lost due to COVID-19 and recovering from all its effects. That is why the UNFPA ensures that every woman and girl has access to the highest quality of health and equal rights.

Wondering if you will be Eligible? I have got your back. Here are the requirements.

I know this is the worry of many students: the eligibility requirements. Well, that is nothing you should worry about, only if you are qualified. I have been there before, so let me walk you through.

Educational requirements

Before you can be considered for this paid internship opportunity. As an applicant, you have to meet some educational requirements. UNFPA has also provided its educational requirements, and I have listed them below for you.

  • First on the list, you must be enrolled in a first university degree programme. These degree programmes include bachelor's degree programmes or equivalents. Note that you must have completed a full academic year

  • Second requirement, you can consider? Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme. These criteria include a master's programme or higher. I know you are thinking of a PhD. That is correct.

  • If you have recently graduated with a university degree as defined above, and if selected, you must start the internship within one year of graduation; or

  • Last of all, you must be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee programme and undertake the internship as part of this programme.

Other eligibility requirements

Aside from the educational requirements, you are required as an applicant to have the following qualities.

  • You must be able to demonstrate your ability to adapt to new environments and be able to establish as well as maintain good working relations with individuals who are from different places with different cultural backgrounds.

  • You must show your interest in the field. This is necessary because, without your interest in something, you won't love to accomplish it to your best.

  • Language in some areas has always been a barrier. So to qualify for this internship, you must be able to demonstrate written and spoken proficiency in at least one of the working languages of the United Nations. Wondering which? They include: (English or French) and fluency in the official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) of the UNFPA office.
